What We Do
Want to learn how the WFHS PTSA serves our community? Read on....
Advocacy
Our Advocacy Committee is focused on the creation of equitable and accessible activities that support the physical and mental well being of our students and families. The committee works with NCPTA and WCPSS to provide support services for our families in need and keep our board informed of local and state legislation affecting public schools.
Teacher & Club Grants
The PTSA provides grant monies to staff and student clubs that complete an application and meet certain criteria for need. These grants have provided items like uniforms, art supplies, DVD's, books, cooking supplies, furniture, magazine subscriptions, educational tools, and much more.
Hospitality
We simply cannot think of enough ways to show our appreciation to the staff at Wake Forest High School! Our PTSA is dedicated to making the lives of our staff just a little bit better by providing them with some tokens of appreciation to let them know their hard work does not go unnoticed! Breakfasts, notes, treats, and snacks!
Senior Events
We love our Seniors!
The PTSA hosts a Senior Event each year, as well as other events and surprises strictly for our upcoming graduates. Every Fall we will form a Senior Events Committee of parents from that years' graduating class to help us coordinate and run these activities. We also help the school distribute important information Seniors need for graduation and post graduation planning.
Communication
You can never have TOO much information! There are so many things going on at Wake Forest HS and because we KNOW you are busy, we want to provide you with a one-stop shop for the information YOU need. We manage this website, social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. We also have Class Pages on FB as well. Plus, we have monthly newsletter that comes directly to your email!
Student Support
Our mission is to support students and we provide numerous opportunities in a variety of different programs. Our most active and recent opportunities are through our PBIS program which recognizes excellent behaviors in and out of the classroom and through our Senior scholarships, awarded each year at graduation.
